How many Fortnite varsity teams can my school have? JV teams?
Despite there being three different pools with three different start times, each school is limited to one Varsity Fortnite team.
With JV teams, a school can have one JV team per pool for a maximum of three JV teams. Similarly, MS (Middle School) teams are also limited to one team per time slot for a maximum of two MS teams.
Are middle school players allowed to play in JV rather than during the Middle School time?
Yes but be aware that in the past there has been a skill discrepancy between JV and Middle School which is why the separate middle school pools were established.
If my students play on school Epic ID accounts, how will that work?
As long as those students link those school accounts to their profiles on LeagueSpot (instead of their own personal Epic IDs) using school Epic ID accounts shouldn’t cause any problems with LeagueSpot’s scoring system. In this case though, WIHSEA will be relying on your school’s oversight to make sure that the players playing are the players listed as playing on LeagueSpot as we won’t have any way of verifying that on our own.
Why is there no in person State Championship for Fortnite?
Logistical hurdles make it difficult to hold an in person Fortnite State Championship though in the future, if it is possible for WIHSEA to secure 100 PCs, the space, power, and network connections required to do so, we would happily do an in person Fortnite competition.
